- The $14-billion hole is "nonsense" says Hudak. We had best costed document by far #voteonby globejunius via twitter 9/30/2011 9:33:48 PM
- Are you willing to have a serious convesation about the provinces finances? Cannot reduce deficit without cutting services or increasing taxes. No sound bytes, no 'gravy-train (read Ford and the reality he's faced with). No pie-in-the-sky belief that we can save money by simply reviewing services.
- Q from Margaret Wente: health care costs are going to grow. How to start addressing that? A: a big challenge. Need rational decisionsby globejunius via twitter 9/30/2011 9:36:34 PM

- Handouts and grants are always 2 steps away from corruption, says Hudak #voteonby globejunius via twitter 9/30/2011 9:47:04 PM

- What cuts does Mr Hudak plan to defeat the deficit?
- A: reduce cabinet by 20%. Nature of govt is to generate spending ideas. #voteonby globejunius via twitter 9/30/2011 9:52:19 PM
- Tim rails against green energy costing more, yet his alternative is nuclear, which is far far more expensive - how does he square that circle? It seems that he's getting away with platitudes on this stuff rather than putting out any credible numbers. Will he change that?
- I would like to ask Mr. Hudak, why he is so against "green jobs"? Many folks will loose their jobs and future jobs will be lost if he cancels the Samsung deal, kills the enviro charge on some products, and kills the green energy act. What will you replace this with?
- If Hudak cancels the green energy plan does he have any other alternative plan to ignite clean energy in Ontario?
- You attack Dalton McGuinty for cancelling the power plant project in Mississauga, but a large proportion of residents in the City oppose it. As a resident of the city, I want to know if elected, will you keep the power plant where it is or will you have it relocated.
- Questions from readers: where would you put Mississauga gas plant? What are your thoughts on renewable power?
- Answer from @timhudak -- Nanticoke. Doesn't support replacing low-cost consistent power with baseload power. supports hydro and nuclear. Denmark's route is not for Ontario
- Question from @kbardeesy: thoughtful @timhudak at this editorial board doesn't jive with the angrier version we see on the campaign trail? Which will see at Premier?
- A: on campaign trail, you have to focus on key messages. As Premier, I hope to use different communications tools at my disposal.
- Q from Sinclair Stewart: why aren't you getting more support from women? A: we'll see results on election day. Women will be especially supportive of pocketbook relief we're offering
- Q from Karen Howlett:
- what would you do with public sector contracts? A: work with them to help get costs under control. But I think I can do a better job to reduce costs than McGuinty -- he caves every time. If McGuinty gets in, we'll have public sector unions one side of the table, and politicians beholden to union money on the other side.
- Q from adam Radwanski: unsure how you'd change the arbitration system? A: make sure they'd actually respect ability of taxpayer to pay (not just not add it), including ability of local communities (things rise to the level of the richest municipalitiy) ...
- A: ... force arbitrators to get decision in on time. unless you fix arbitration, nothing else matters. #voteON
- Q from Sean Fine: My partner was a teacher under Mike Harris. She felt profession was run down then, afraid to identified herself as a teacher. wouldn't vote PC again. How do you address this tension?
- A: both parents and my sister are in teaching. we talked about importance of education at our table. I wouldn't be here if it was for strong guidance from teachers. I want to free up the teachers to teach.
- Let teachers teach phonics if they want, says Hudak #voteonby globejunius via twitter 9/30/2011 10:08:08 PM
