RT @TheSunnyDhillon: Media wait outside #Toronto Mayor Rob Ford's office. Velvet ropes have been put up from elevator to office door #TO ...
Cllr Doug Ford arrives at city hall, refuses to make any comment before ruling. 'No, not today guys," he tells reporters. #topoli
Despite everything, it is hard not to feel a little sympathy for Mayor Ford at what must be an excruciating moment for him as he waits.
Here's an update from The Globe's Oliver Moore, who is at Mr. Ford's lawyer's office. Lawyers involved in the case are receiving the judgement momentarily, an hour before it will be released publicly:
"He just arrived at the building, which seems to have put on 3-4 extra guards to keep media out."
The parties in the Rob Ford appeal should have received the decision by now. Rest of us have to wait until 1030. #TOpoli
RT @jeffreyandrus: @TheSunnyDhillon or until someone leaks it.
A large media scrum is awaiting reaction outside Mr. Ford's office.
Councillor Doug Holyday, the deputy mayor, is speaking to reporters. He is talking about Mr. Ford's accomplishments and says his opponents are using the courts to try and oust him.
"They don't like the result in the polls and they're trying everything they can do to change it."
Deputy Mayor Doug Holyday says the city's in better same than it has ever been because of Rob Ford. #topli
Doug Holyday is taking shots at the city council left in a scrum at city hall, diminishing his chances of getting appointed in Ford's place.
"The circus is a big thing around here," Cllr Holyday says of city hall. Beefs about "left wing organizations that keep us here all night."
Mr. Holyday says he's prepared to assume Mr. Ford's responsibilities if he forced from office. But he says he wouldn't run in a mayoral by-election because that Mr. Ford would.
RT @sladurantaye: The reporter who tweets Ford news first wins the NNA for Rapid Fingers In Breaking News Situation. New award this year.
Mayor Rob Ford getting the news at his lawyer's office. Either way, he is expected to make a statement, likely around noon. #topoli
We'll post some comments from readers at various points during our coverage this morning.
CDNVIKING - That's certainly one assumption that some pundits are making this morning. Stephen LeDrew of CP24 thinks that if he loses, he'll likely want to linger and discuss with his lawyer.
RT @AdrianMorrow: Right now, Ford is simultaneously mayor and not mayor #Schroedinger'smayor
Below is a tweet from an ally of Mr. Ford - unclear what he's referring to.
RT @JamesPasternak: This morning is like waiting to hear how someone's major surgery went.
And, without a leak, so begins the Twitter analysis... #TOpoli
"Please don't crash, please don't crash, please don't crash." The court's IT team, probably. #TOpoli
RT @joemihevc: Media has lost its mojo...where's the leak??
Everyone - we're five minutes away from the release of the decision. Much anticipation throughout the city this morning.
