Now he's tying together his parents with health-care policy. During the debates, this was one of the few ways I found Takhar was able to connect.
As Takhar wraps, worth noting that he may be the most unpredictable of all the candidates in terms of where he'll throw his support.
He was initially perceived as a stalking horse for Pupatello, but has chafed a bit at that. She still seems the most natural fit for him, but it's completely possible that he goes to Wynne or even Kennedy.
As @harindertakhar finishes his speech, Wynne organisers exhort their people to cheer and clap. #onpoli
If you were looking for hints in Takhar's speech about where he'll throw support, you didn't get any. More focused on introducing himself.
Kathleen Wynne's delegates are certainly the loudest. Sousa's are also on their feet. Hoskins delegates, however, are sitting quietly.
Takhar supporters exiting the area in front of the stage on one side, as Kennedy supporters descend on it from the other in advance of his speech, which comes next.
Gerard Kennedy's supporters are filing out onto the convention floor. #onpoli
True to form, the Kennedy folks seem rather passionate about their guy.
As Kennedy's video comes on, worth recalling that his video at the '96 leadership was a bit of a disaster. Set to U2's "One," it was way too messianic, and turned off a lot of other camps' delegates.
Kennedy's delegates are chanting "Let's go, GK, let's go!" nearly drowning out his video. #onpoli
Kennedy's video states he's candidate most able to defend and advance party's values. Should've been his theme from the outset.
Kennedy's pitch in the video is clear: he can win an election.
Also, Kennedy's video did not feature "One," so never let it be said he hasn't learned from old mistakes.
"It's great to be back in the Maple Leaf Gardens of my childhood hockey dreams," Gerard Kennedy says. #onpoli
At end of @harindertakhar's speech @Kathleen_Wynne"s team encourages her supporters to cheer.. A blatant appeal for his delegates? #olpldr
Watching Kennedy earlier in the campaign, he looked either worn out or like he was mailing it in a bit. Watching him in the suites last night, and during his speech now, he seems somewhat re-energized.
Worth noting as well that Kennedy has way more experience with convention speeches than the other candidates.

Kennedy is talking quite a bit about McGuinty's legacy, as he has during the campaign. Interesting since he's probably the least stay-the-course candidate.
I think the point is to present himself as being able to return the Liberals to their '03-07 glory days, rather than the unpleasantness of the past year.
.@GKennedyOLP cites @Dalton_McGuinty's education accomplishments. No mention so far of labour unrest with teachers. #olpldr #onpoli
"We know we have started to lose the confidence of some people" says @GKennedyOLP Party needs to do better job of listening he says #olpldr
No question, Kennedy can deliver a pretty good speech. But this is a tough venue right now, in part because the floor area is too big.
"I will not let the next generation be worse off than the one before" says @GKennedyOLP #olpldr #onpoli
"You know the chance of the next generation not having the same opportunity is more than a possibility" says @GKennedyOLP #olpldr #onpoli
"To make sure the next generation isn't worse-off, we have to make a committment to tackle the income and opportunity gaps," Kennedy says
Kennedy is playing to his strengths, making a pitch for youth votes and highlighting social issues. #onpoli

"It's time to make room for everyone in Ontario" says @GKennedyOLP #olpldr
A good section of Kennedy's speech on challenges facing youth, which has been a big part of Hoskins' message. \
"The productivity of our province depends on everyone" says @GKennedyOLP "No one will be left behind" #olpldr
"There needs to be a new 3 Rs for our government," Kennedy says. "Respect, responsibility and results."

Unlike Takhar, there isn't much personal story in Kennedys speech. He's talking mostly about Liberal values and his past in cabinet
"My friends, we have a responsibility to bring teachers back to the table again...they are our friends and our partners in the Liberal govt"
