was in NYC this weekend attending a seminar. Only 2 of us actually got a plane out from newark - for the rest - everything cancelled - some got on a bus to Montreal, others are just staying in town - New York participants opened their homes to anyone stranded, there was about 120? of us from Toronto, Boston, New Jersey and Montreal in NYC for the weekend. -
We're hunkered down on the 15th floor in Brooklyn. Got into JFK on Saturday night after being hammered back Sandy for 4 days in the Dominican Republic. Am thinking I should stop off in Ottawa on my way home to Vancouver and see if I can experience Sandy in three countries...."A hat trick".....really just let me get home ASAP -
We are traveling in our RV from southern Ontario, down the east coast on our way to Florida. We are currently in an RV park about a half mile from the Atlantic and about an hour out of Boston. In the past hour the winds have really started to pick up. They tell us they will max in the next hour and maintain for up to 24 hours. We are safe, warm and dry. We travel to meet new people, see new places and enjoy new experiences. -

My wife and I spent our first wedding anniversary in Chicago this past weekend. Our United flight ORD --> YXU was cancelled 30 mins prior to take off. we waited 6 hours to fly to YYZ. Connected to YXU via a small Dash-8 plane. My wife and I feared our lives taking off and landing. Happy anniversary love of my life!

I understand people in cities directly hit by the storm taking precautions. Why all the media's (and other institutions) hype in Toronto, Canada ? Telling people to go out and purchase a 72 h emergency supply in Toronto is irresponsible. Traffic to work was light this morning. How many million dollars in productivity were lost in the GTA today?
